Session 1
Discuss the challenges and opportunities to having goals of care in time limited situations (such as in the emergency department, deteriorations in long term care and acute care wards). Address specific elements of health care consent and substitute decision-making in these settings. Consider process and quality improvement initiatives to improve clinician and patient/substitute decision maker experiences with conversations in time limited settings.

Learn how to use a communication guide to leading a Goals of Care conversation that saves clinicians time. Observe and practice empathic communication skills to help navigate strong emotion during serious illness discussions. Feel increased confidence in your ability to lead serious illness conversations during COVID,

Session 3
This interactive webinar will explore challenges and barriers to person-centred discussions encountered in primary care. Discussion will include introduction to a framework and skill set for implementing these discussions in primary care. We will discuss specific implementation tools and communication skills to improve success in engaging patients in person-centred discussions.

Session 4
This interactive webinar will explore challenges and barriers to person-centred discussions encountered in various fields.
